ISSI samples low power SRAM for mobile application

Thursday, November 16, 2006 Integrated Silicon Solution Inc has introduced the IS61WV102416ALL/BLL, claimed to be the industry's first 16Mb, 1Mx16, high speed/low power asynchronous SRAM with access times as fast as 8ns. This gives the designer a high speed device that utilizes low power technology to minimize power consumption.

The device is the second in a broad range of 16Mb SRAMs that the company is developing including a variety of organizations, voltage and temperature ranges. It is targeted for networking, telecom, industrial and automotive applications requiring a high density, high speed, zero latency, fully random access memory. ISSI introduced the 2Mx8 version of this 16Mb SRAM earlier this year.

The IS61WV102416ALL operates from 1.65 to 2.2V and the IS61WV102416BLL operates from 2.4 to 3.6V. Both are available in 48-pin TSOP I and 48-pin mBGA packages. An automotive version, the IS64WV102416B, will be available in Q2 2007.

For quantities of 10,000, the IS61WV102416ALL/BLL, in a 48-pin BGA package with a 0 to 70°C operating range, is priced at US$15. Samples are available now with volume production shipments beginning in Q1 2007.
