Hewlett-Packard spent over US$20 billion on procurement in Taiwan this year, the highest amount among all foreign companies, according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN).
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), total procurement from foreign companies in Taiwan totaled US$73.3 billion, up 10.89% on year. MOEA estimates the total procurement amount will grow more than 10% during 2007, said the paper.
HP, Dell and Sony are the top three companies in terms of procurement this year, said the paper, adding that Philips saw the largest growth in 2006 with procurement reaching US$2 billion, up more than 100% on year.
