Winbond Electronics Corporation is investing $15.7 million in a South Korean maker of specialty memory, Emerging Memory & Logic Solution, Inc.
The company, founded in 2000 and based on the island of Jeju, designs memory for mobile devices, including pseudo SRAM and low power SDRAM. It also develops CMOS image sensors.
Winbond currently manufactures the Korean company's products. The Taiwanese company has a number of products targeting the mobile space, including specialized memory solutions.
