Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) on January 4 reported its self-estimated revenues of NT$421.0 million for last month, down 33.45% on month and 72.85% on year.
According to SiS, memory modules generated 64.4% of its revenues in December, while chipsets contributed 35.44%. The company's cumulative revenues for the year of 2006 were NT$7.908 billion, up 31.44% from 2005.
The large decrease in last month's revenues was primarily caused by that clients had relatively high inventory levels, SiS pointed out. However, the company has an optimistic outlook for its business in 2007.
According to SiS, the company is the first Taiwan-based chipset designer, which obtained Microsoft's certification for the Windows Vista Premium operating system. This will help to bring in OEM orders, SiS indicated. The company plans to offer several models of SiS671-series chipsets for the Intel CPU platform this quarter, expecting orders from from OEM customers and vendors of motherboards, desktop PCs and notebook PCs, SiS said.
