AMD cut a deal with China-based TCL Computer which will offer a range of commercial notebooks and desktops based on AMD processors.
“TCL Computer and AMD are committed to fulfilling customer needs with innovative computing products and solutions,” Karen Guo, AMD senior VP and president of Greater China region, said in a statement. “The technology partnership announced today is proof of a shared commitment to improving China’s rapidly growing IT industry, and a testament to the performance-per-watt advantages of AMD64 commercial solutions – an attractive choice for China.”
AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor-based desktop systems from TCL Computer are immediately available, and AMD64-powered notebooks are expected to launch in April.
