Nanya earnings jump

Thursday, January 25, 2007

Nanya announces its fourth quarter revenues grew by 56% year to year at NT$22.33 billion (US$680 million) in the fourth quarter of 2006. Net income totaled NT$6.47 billion, a 2120% jump from last year.

The company said Inotera Memories accounted for around 60% of Nanya's total shipments. Average selling prices (ASP) also grew by 36% over last year in the fourth quarter 2006. Nanya said it currently houses an inventory level of 10 days, versus one week as recorded at the end of the third quarter.

Nanya delivers a positive outlook for first quarter 2007 predicting another 20% sequential bit growth, though it foresees average selling prices (ASPs) to slip in the first half of 2007. Nanya says it expects to see inventory to remain at low levels in the first quarter of 2007 amid strong demand for branded PCs.
