DRAM bit growth ties to industry landscape 2/19/2015
Microsoft Windows operating systems do not require more system memory, as was the case in the previous two decades, IC Insights indicated. By 2016, IC Insights forecasts that portable personal computing systems (i.e., tablet PCs) will surpass shipments of desktops and notebooks, which are often sold with 6GB or more of DRAM today.
