U.S. District Judge Edward Davila found Hao Zhang, 41, guilty of the three counts Friday after a four-day trial. The decision comes five years after Zhang was indicted on charges of conspiring to steal technology from two companies shortly after graduating from the University of Southern California.

It would also authorize $5 billion in federal dollars towards public-private projects to build or modernize fabs that produce “measurably secure and specialized microelectronics” for use by the federal government as well as for critical infrastructure.

Order for U.S. Durable Good surge 15.8% |

The Commerce Department said that orders for manufactured goods meant to last at least three years shot up 15.8% in May after plunging 18.1% in April and 16.7% in March. Economists expected a rebound, but the May increase was stronger than expected.

Army will award a contract for the production of hundreds of robotic vehicles capable of carrying up to 1,000 pounds each. Essentially, these Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport vehicles, would serve as mules in hauling equipment that typically rested on the backs of soldiers.

Company wants to build compact fast nuclear reactor in Idaho |

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Tuesday that it has accepted a license application submitted by Oklo Inc., to build a 1.5-megawatt reactor at the U.S. Department of Energy’s nuclear site in eastern Idaho that includes the Idaho National Laboratory.
